MkS: My name is Mckaywer Sting Salethan, professionally known by my stage name 4Staan. I am a music producer, recording artist, and mixing & mastering engineer based in Kanyakumari, India. I have been actively working in music production for over six years, creating and collaborating on independent music projects across multiple genres. My work focuses on producing emotionally engaging music while collaborating with artists and creatives from different backgrounds.

M2D: Why do you think your kind of music will do well internationally?
MkS: Music has the ability to connect people beyond language and cultural boundaries. I focus on creating music with strong emotional expression and modern production that can resonate with listeners globally. With digital platforms allowing independent artists to reach audiences worldwide, I believe music that carries authentic emotion and relatable themes can travel across borders and connect with diverse listeners.

M2D: Notable projects you have completed
MkS: One of my notable achievements is having my debut album featured on BBC Asian Radio, which helped my music reach an international audience. Another highlight was an independent release titled “Vikram – Venuma En Recipe,” which gained strong traction and went viral across YouTube and various social media platforms.
Alongside these projects, I have worked on multiple independent music productions where I handled the full creative process, including songwriting, recording, production, and mixing & mastering.

MkS: I am currently working on new independent music releases and collaborations with artists from different creative backgrounds. My focus is on continuing to release original music, expanding collaborations, and reaching wider audiences through new projects and creative partnerships.

M2D: What do you think is the single largest problem faced by the music industry today?
MkS: One of the biggest challenges in the music industry today is visibility for independent artists. With a huge amount of music being released every day, it can be difficult for talented artists to reach the right audience and gain meaningful exposure.

MkS: I believe stronger industry networks, collaboration opportunities, and platforms that connect artists with music professionals can help address this challenge. When artists have access to supportive communities and industry connections, it becomes easier for them to showcase their work and grow their careers.

MkS: Over the next year, my goal is to release more original music, collaborate with artists and producers internationally, and continue developing my work as both a producer and recording artist while expanding my presence in the global music community.
